27th July was my first day at UiTM. I came here from my hometown, Sarawak, alone. It such a new experience for me as this is the first time I come to Peninsular Malaysia. The first thing I did when I came to Uitm, Shah Alam, was registered as a college student. The orientation program for the new students was started right after the registration process finished. The program was conducted for a week. During this orientation there so many activities were conducted. I feel so tired the whole week because our schedule was so pack. Furthermore, I did not have roommate yet for the first two days I was coming here. I stayed at my room alone during day and night for the first two days. During that time I was having a homesick. I missed my family very much. Despite the fact that this is not the first time I am staying apart from my family. I also did not have friends yet because all my close friends were selected to different universities to further their study.
However, I got useful experience from the orientation program. After a few days I had meet a new friends. They come from different states of Malaysia with different backgrounds. My new roommates also came the next two days. Fortunately, two of my roommates were from Labuan Matriculation College, same as me. The other one is from Kuala Lumpur. All of them are very friendly and nice. Then, I met my new classmates. All of us were from matriculation leavers but from different states of matriculation college before. All of them are nice and friendly too. After I got many new friends then I started to feel happy here.
That are what I felt at the first week at Uitm. Now I start to get myself familiar with this new place.
